American Baptists Concerned and AWAB Groups
The regional and local chapters listed here have a
variety of focuses from Bible studies and retreats, to being politically active in
regional or denominational politics. Please contact the local chapters for
information on group activities or visit their web pages when available.
A roll of the Association of Welcoming & Affirming Baptists is to provide support and advocacy
for sexual minority Baptists, family and friends. AWAB is an organization of
churches and individuals who are inclusive and affirming regardless of sexual
orientation. The
organization provides support for Baptists who are "out," those who are in the
closet and those that are seeking information and answers. Friends and family members of LGBT people are also invited to join in activities.
